Learning Technology Specialist

Rosalia is a Learning Technology Specialist with over 30 years of experience in education. She currently serves the College of Education as part of the Educational Technology Services (ETS) team. Rosalia's mission is to empower educators by providing them with the tools and knowledge to integrate technology seamlessly into their teaching practices.

Expertise in Educational Technology:

  • Faculty Training: Rosalia designs and delivers training programs to equip faculty with the skills to leverage technology effectively in their courses.
  • Instructional Design: She is an in-house consultant who offers expert guidance on online course design, development, and evaluation.
  • Technology Integration: Rosalia provides direct support to faculty, helping them integrate a variety of educational technologies into their teaching, including:
    • Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Canvas
    • Video Conferencing platforms like Zoom and Google Meet
    • Classroom Management tools (e.g., LAN School)
    • Lecture Capture Software (e.g., Panopto)

Background and Passion for Innovation:

Rosalia's educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and culminated in a Master's in Education from Temple University. Her initial career path was in high school science and mathematics education within the Philadelphia public school system. In the mid-1990s, Rosalia discovered a deep passion for the potential of technology to enhance learning and accessibility. Since then, she has become a leader in the field, providing extensive training on online course delivery and actively participating in college and campus committees focused on advancing learning technology.
