Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, P.B.C. (In-Person)
The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (P.B.C.) program prepares educators with a state credential to take and pass the TESOL Praxis exam, which in Maryland enables them to add the TESOL Certificate to their existing credential. Students may begin a master’s degree from the College of Education in TESOL or another area with the 4-course PBC and then continue to the M.Ed. in an on-campus program. TESOL is an area of critical teacher shortage in Maryland and across the country–our program better prepares educators to support multilingual students, particularly those in mainstream educational settings.
Information on admissions and application to this program can be found on the University Graduate Admissions website.
